Cake; A Slice

A simple vice
happened twice,
victim of paradise.

Fool me once
shame on you,
worlds we live in
come in two.

Shamed
I can't deny
but that place
up in the sky
is in my dreams
for as it seems:

That heavenly place
is traced with lines of love
above arches in gold veneer
richer than the world in wealth,
yet strong in spirit
our demerit
the fact that we could bare it
the choice that we should share it
proves reason to reign.
Emotions so shallow
we feign what we feel.

Hunger after every meal
lusting for the devil's deal:
Power and immunity.
How about some clarity?

See strife in life's mortality
what it does to you and me.
Our needs, the seeds we plant,
greed for which we can't.

Weeds grow quick and potent
gardens' sickly quotient
starving lack of nutrients
winter's have come since.

Yet nobody understands
individual demands stand
preface planned man land,
cognition:
Missions and fissions and
crucial incisions
a mental decision
means method for precision.

Thought carries more weight
than body able
thus the land of parable
has found itself stable,
if not for fettered feedback
let water fill the crack.
